Carpet Cleaning
What to expect when you book a cheap carpet cleaning service
Cheap, cheaper, cheapest, when it comes to carpet cleaning, you really get what you pay for!
So what are your options?
- Hire a DIY machine
- Book a service offering cheap, local carpet cleaning
- Pay more and book a reputable company who delivers a quality service
ProSteamUK have never sold out to the cheaper, local carpet cleaners in the area, we believe there are still customers out there who demand a quality service at a fair price.
If I had a pound for every time I get asked why do carpet cleaners all charge different prices…
If only booking a carpet cleaning service was as easy as buying a pint of milk, for example a pint of milk from Waitrose is going to be exactly the same quality as if it was purchased from Asda. There may be a slight difference in price but at the end of the day the milk will be exactly the same.
The busy fool…
Most people will call several carpet cleaning companies and will book purely on price, if the carpet cleaner will commit to a price over the phone. Customers like to know exactly what they are paying but have no idea exactly what they will be receiving in terms of results.
For example, some carpet cleaners will happily book up to 6 separate jobs in and charge $25 per room, but in reality these guys have to work extremely fast in order to complete this amount of work per day.
When faced with a heavy work load and a cheap ticket price, something has to give and that usually means several things:
- The cleaning method is shortened (no pre vacuum or pre spray etc..)
- Equipment used is cheap to purchase (poor performance resulting in long dry times and terrible results)
- Low grade, cheap chemicals used (High PH cleaners, leaving detergent residues in the carpet)
- No training (Fly-by-night cleaners simply learn from Youtube)
- No insurance (No comeback if they damage your property)
- Cheap marketing (Leaflets through letter boxes)
In other words, cheap prices usually result in poor service!
You local hardware store offers carpet cleaning machines for hire
The public are led to believe that hiring a carpet cleaning machine is the cheaper/cheapest option compared to hiring a professional carpet cleaning service.
So if these machines were any good, why do the professionals pay thousands of pounds for cleaning equipment rather than purchase one of these?
The video below features ProSteamUK cleaning a flotex kitchen carpet, we have a very specific cleaning method when cleaning flotex carpets and there is absolutely no way a hire machine would be capable of removing the dirt, stains and bacteria from this carpet.
A weekend hire could cost you around £70 once you have purchased all the detergents, anti foam and spotters, plus you have to consider your time when collecting, using and returning the machine.
This type of machine has been known to destroy expensive loop pile, wool carpets by over wetting and shrinking them! plus the agitation bar can damage the loop pile.
That £70 hire could end up resulting in an expensive insurance claim.
